Each Day, We Choose Progress Over Perfection

About Us

Hi! I’m Michael Madsen, MS, LMFT

As a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), I’ve completed advanced training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, trauma-informed care (TF-CBT and EMDR), and motivational interviewing techniques, all of which guide my work.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about helping individuals and couples live better, more fulfilling lives.

My approach? I combine faith in Jesus Christ with evidence-based methods and a sprinkle of what I’ve been told is “obnoxious optimism,” which forms a contagious enthusiasm for growth and motivation.

My journey started as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where I saw great people struggling with addiction who needed more than just the spiritual help I was offering and not knowing what to do.

After completing my mission, I knew I had found my calling. So, I pursued the knowledge that I was missing; I have degrees in Psychology from Snow College and Utah State University and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

I’ve seen how past experiences can hold people back, and I’m committed to helping everyone overcome those barriers. By keeping grounded in a trauma-informed, systematic approach to problem-solving, I’ve seen the changes in people’s lives I hoped to see while on my mission.

I love engaging with my community. I’m working on creating accessible educational programs, like 30-minute “Anxiety Lunch Breaks,” to provide quick and practical tools for managing stress. My beautiful wife and I have six kids, so trust me when I say I get that life can be hectic. To help maintain a feeling of balance, I coach kids’ soccer at the YMCA and enjoy book clubs and game nights.

Let me help you thrive!

Our Mission

I’m here to help you overcome barriers, build your relationships, and find a purpose-filled life beyond the problems that come from indulging in addiction. I want to support you in fulfilling your mission in this life that God has given you. Let’s collaborate on how to leave these problems behind and get you where you want to be.
